“[Generative AI] It feels like an evolution like never before in terms of scope, but also in terms of the speed at which things move. “The potential of this technology is real,” said Gopal Srinivasan of Deloitte.

With more than 10,000 Deloitte professionals working to help clients migrate to the Google Cloud, the IT consulting and services giant is building new AI solutions with Google to create new opportunities for organizations around the world.

“It is clear that we are at an inflection point in terms of the evolution of technology and AI in general,” said Gopal Srinivasan, longtime Deloitte CEO who leads generative AI for the Alphabet Google alliance. “Generative AI is moving forward the entire discipline of AI. Google and Deloitte are working ahead of many of the things that are now going public.”

The $59 billion New York City-based company is doubling down on Google Cloud as Google launches a slew of new partner resources and AI products across its large portfolio.

“Many of the benefits of generative AI relate to augmenting and developing human capabilities. These technologies allow you to increase productivity, but they will also require proactive workforce transformation,” said Srinivasan (pictured).

Deloitte expands Google cloud partnership for generative AI

This month, the two IT giants expanded their partnership aimed at building and scaling AI solutions as Deloitte’s generative AI practice grows rapidly.

Kevin Ishpurani, global partner for Google Cloud, told CRN that his cloud company is building a stronger relationship with Deloitte around engineering and go-to-market to bring Google’s generative AI capabilities to organizations in every industry.

“Together, we’re now really helping customers bring together real-world use cases for generative AI. We’re helping retailers create entirely new customer experiences; helping consumer product companies rethink the way they market—you’re seeing very disturbing use cases in market right now,” Ishpurani told CRN. “We often need to adapt the model to individual customer use cases. Deloitte has the expertise to do this, in addition to the ongoing change management that will be required for the organization.”

Deloitte’s new generative AI practice helps clients harness the power of AI and foundational models to enhance productivity and drive business innovation, with a strong focus on workforce transformation and trustworthy AI.

“This feels like an evolution like never before in terms of scope, but also the pace at which things are moving,” said Srinivasan, who has decades of experience in the IT industry. “The technology’s potential is real.”

In an interview with CRN, Srinivasan explains Deloitte’s strategy to transform its workforce with generative AI, its partnership with Google Cloud and the company’s vision for AI.
